Medallion Center Architectural Illustration - 1960
Medallion Center was developed by W.W. Caruth, Jr., the prominent Dallas land developer who also owned and operated Inwood Village (the first of it's kind in Dallas) and Hillside Village. The major construction on Medallion Center was completed in 1962, with additional buildings added in 1963, 1964, 1969, 1972 and 1987.
The first major tenant was Medallion Stores, Inc. In 1976 the Medallion Store location was leased by Target which remains a major tenant to this day. The Medallion Shopping Center has been through several renovations. In 2006 a Kohl's store was added to the center.
Dale Crabtree (pictured at right), owner of Medallion Barbers, has been a tenant at Medallion since 1966. From the same location he has watched the growth of the center and surrounding community.
